Some of our favorite events to serve at are smaller, in home parties! We love seeing our clients creativity come through in the details. Children’s birthdays are just so fun, so we wanted to share some of our favorite first birthday themes and a few tips to make them extra special!
Girls
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star One-derful is What You Are
This party theme can be for a girl or boy! When in doubt about how to decorate, pick stars, moons, and clouds in your party’s color palette! Use cookie cutters of that same shape to cut sandwiches, cookies, fruit, and any other food that you would like in your theme.

One is Fun
For your little lady’s “One is Fun” birthday party think all things celebration! This is the type of party you can go overboard with. Use hot pink streamers, fans, balloons, centerpieces, etc. Go big with the food as well!

Donut Grow Up
This theme is all about donuts! Have a donut buffet, use donut decor, and pass out donut party favors. We love using the “One” donut balloons as a focal point for the party.

One in a Melon
This theme is perfect for a spring or summer birthday party! Grill some burgers and have your guests spend some time outside. A fun activity you can have for the kids is a watermelon seed spitting contest! Whoever can launch the seed the farthest, wins!

Boys
O-Fish-Aly One
This party is an easy one to put together! Use blue decor and incorporate fish around the party. For a fun snack, have fish and chips for the kiddos-Goldfish and potato chips!

Wild One
“The Wild One” party theme is one that we love! We have seen the trend of an outdoor camping party, but we just think the idea of a wild animal party is so fun! A petting zoo is a great activity for adults and kids! If you don’t want as many animals, think about inviting a trainer from a local animal exhibit to bring one animal for a show and tell.

Uno
Bright colors are what will make the uno party come to life! Bright purple, bright green, and bright orange are sure to make the day feel like a fiesta! Of course no fiesta would be complete without tacos, so having a taco bar for your guests will emphasize the “Uno” theme.

M-one-ster
This theme will be enjoyed by your little man! Use the monster food table as the focal point for the party. Bake plain sugar cookies and allow kids to decorate them to make plain monster cookies.

alternatives to an easter basket

Easter is a special day full of family and friends! Gatherings include yummy food, sweet drinks, entertaining egg hunts, and fun Easter baskets. The tradition of gifting Easter baskets has been around for years. Recently, there has been a change in the use of these baskets. They are still being given, but gifters are now finding unique ways to show their love. In this blog, we are going to share 6 alternatives to Easter baskets.
Mason Jars
Mason jars can make a great gift for any occasion, especially Easter! If you’re on a tight budget, a mason jar gift is the way to go! You can find mason jars and all of the items to put inside of it at the dollar store. For the women you can make a nail polish kit, seeds to make an herb garden, mini mimosa ingredients, and any other items that your favorite ladies will enjoy. For the men, you can make a bar in a jar with miniature alcohol bottles, a men’s clean up kit with little shaving cream and cologne, or even a nature survival kit.

Egg Carton
Using part of an egg carton is a great way to give while still keeping the Easter theme! Some items that will fit right in the carton are candles, plants, small mugs, jam, candy, etc. If the item is too small and wiggles around in the carton, use an Easter basket filler like crinkled or shredded paper to hold it in place.

Baking Kit
A baking kit is a great option for your guests that enjoy their time in the kitchen! This kit can be larger or smaller, depending on how much you want to spend. If you are on a tight budget, use a mason jar or small bowl. If you have more money for the gift, use a colander or cookie jar. Ribbon can make it seem more festive, while allowing you to tie the gift together.

Upside Down Umbrella
An upside down umbrella is practical, but also allows for some fun items! The umbrella allows your guest to be protected from spring showers as well as getting some gifts that they will enjoy. Similar to the mason jars, there can be themes with the umbrella. Coordinate colors and prints.

Bunny Food
This gift can be used at your Easter party! Your guests can take it home or munch on it upon receiving the gift. It can also be used as decoration. You can set up a table full of bunny food or you can use a smaller version as a piece of decor in the place setting, on the middle of the plate. Sweet or savory ingredients can be used, depending on what your guests prefer and what food you’re serving. If you opt for sweet bunny food, this can be used as dessert.

Little Pool
We love the little pool! It can be used similarly to the umbrella. Instead of being used for spring showers, it’ll get your little guests excited for summer! In addition to fun Easter gifts, you can also include summer items like pool floaties, sunscreen, or inflatables. If you have a family, this is a great way to include all of the children’s gifts in one place and teach them a bit about sharing.

There really are so many fun ways to give to your guests on Easter! Our goal for this blog was to help you find a party favor that really fits your event. Whether it’s large or small, whether you have a tight budget or an abundance to spend, we hope this to be a resource for your Easter gathering!
