Warehouse venues have been the hot ticket item for a few years now, and the trend doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. In fact, the popularity of these spaces is increasing, and when you take a look at the low-maintenance factor plus the beautiful pictures they produce, it is no doubt why warehouses and lofts are the place to be for events. These venues are indoor, making them reliable for any weather. They are trendy, rustic, raw, and embrace the urban theme which is oh-so-hot right now. With wide-open space, exposed brick, concrete walls, and high beam ceilings, these lofts and warehouses are charming and chic. The open floor space makes the space customizable to an elegant and timeless wedding, an intimate concert, and an interactive event or staff party… the possibilities are exciting and expansive. These favorite warehouse venues in San Diego will leave you and your guests with a memorable, unique experience time and time again.
 BRICK
It’s all in the name. BRICK in San Diego features stunning floor-to-ceiling red brick walls that make a timeless backdrop for a dreamy indoor wedding, banquet dinner, or private party. With many large, white-silled windows, tall ceilings and strung lights from the white beams, the venue is anything but dull. The 5,060 sq. ft. space is large and open, inviting the hosts to get creative with their own personal style. Large, hanging floral chandeliers will draw your eyes to the ceiling. Make the space more homey and warm with couches, coffee tables and rugs creating an ambiance that is perfectly tailored to each party, whatever the occasion.

Moniker Warehouse

Moniker is any minimalists dream. The modern, square-edged, white-walled space, is a blank canvas for your event but is anything but bland. All-brick exterior with an outdoor patio area, the warehouse gives you the option for some fresh air, while the main party is inside. Raw, exposed ceilings give an industrial feel, and the white walls and concrete floors are perfect for those who love the warehouse look. Perhaps the most attractive part of this venue is how the stark industrial space comes to life when flowers are placed, lights are hung, and music begins to play. The atmosphere is truly enchanting for an indoor event, and it invites the creativity of whoever enters to make their mark.

Luce Loft
The Luce Loft in Downtown San Diego is a ten for those seeking an urban indoor space. What was once a historic 1928 Carnation Dairy Factory, is now a beloved event venue. Featuring rough, exposed, concrete walls, polished concrete floor, and oversized windows for natural light, this one and a half story venue has great dimension and warmth. The loft’s large, custom-made wood sliding door, rod-iron staircase, and decadently wide-open floor, invites anything from chic boho, to timeless elegance for a custom-made space and gorgeous photos.

Sandbox
Sandbox San Diego boasts itself as a “Pinterest-inspired” venue, with exposed brick, stunning high-beam wood ceilings, and draped string lighting. Featuring a rustic, raw interior, this indoor space is trendy and chic. Sandbox’s customizable floor space and an open-vendor policy, invites the hosts to bring along their favorite bartenders, coffee carts, and taco trucks to spruce up their party for a playful atmosphere.

The guest book is a fun way for guests to express their love and well wishes for the couple getting married. Recently, couples have been coming up with their own ideas for the guest book. They can find one that reflects their personalities. Below are some great options for couples who want to take a different approach to their guest book.
Globe
One alternative is a globe. This is for the couple that loves travel. There are various designs to choose from:  globes with an actual map printed on them and globes with painted designs on them. One adorable phrase for a globe is, “This is our greatest adventure!” Guests can sign their names and/or write a sweet note for the couple!

Puzzle Pieces
Puzzle pieces are a great way to allow your guests to participate in part of your story. Each guest will write their name on a puzzle piece and the couple can take this puzzle with them for the rest of their marriage reminding them of all the people that are cheering them on!

Jenga Blocks
Jenga blocks are a great option for the couple who loves games. This will be one game that they will treasure every time they play. One special thing about this example is that they can use their guest book! Make sure to have a sign next to the jenga pieces saying, “Building memories.”

Bench
The bench is special because the couple can place it in their home! The color of the signing pens can either match the wedding colors or coordinate with the colors of the couple’s home. They can use a small bench, large bench, light wood, dark wood; each couple is sure to find something they love!

thanksgiving decorations made simple

Thanksgiving is a holiday that often seems stressful to host. When trying to decorate, people constantly worry about how their space will look and as a result they create a lot of unnecessary work for themselves. Below we have broken down decorating into a few ideas for you!
Focus on your Table
One simple way to decorate is to focus on your table. There are two things that contribute to a great table: the centerpiece and the tableware. You can do either a more detailed centerpiece and simple tableware or reverse it and do more detailed tableware with a simple centerpiece. We love the tableware in the image below!
Tip: For the centerpiece, it is better to make it lower than eye level. Your guests will want to talk to one another and while having a tall centerpiece in the middle of the table looks beautiful, it can also make a conversation awkward. If you opt for a lower centerpiece, your guests will have an easier time making eye contact and carrying on their conversations. Some easy items to put in a short centerpiece are a table runner, greenery, votive candles, short florals, cotton, pumpkins, gourds, berries, acorns, pine cones etc.

Food Display
Using food as a way to decorate can make your life so much easier! If you focus on the display of your food, your Thanksgiving will instantly look put together. One great area to use this idea is the dessert table. Some desserts that look nice are chocolate covered strawberries, sugar cookies, pie with a decorative topping, cake pops, cupcakes, etc.
Tip: Use different levels when displaying food on the dessert table; it is an easy way to add more dimension to the table.  Source:

 Pumpkins and Gourds
Pumpkins and gourds are a quick way to bring fall into your space. The great thing about them is that they do not require much time for setup or cleanup. Using different sizes, colors, and textures can bring the space together. Pumpkins and Gourds can go most places in your event space: kitchen, dining room, living room, restroom, entry, etc.
Tip: Coordinate the colors with your table. This will make the look and vibe of your whole event more cohesive!

Banners
Banners are another easy way to make your event space look like fall. Banners can be hung on a wall, mantle, mirror, door, etc. Pre-made Thanksgiving banners can be purchased at most craft and home decor stores. If you are more crafty, you can try your hand at making a banner!
Tip: Use multiple, coordinating banners to easily fill up a wall or an empty space.

Have a fun time decorating your space for Thanksgiving! Most importantly, make sure to enjoy your time with your guests. Cheers!

tips for the wedding day

There is so much that goes into the wedding day! It is easy for brides to get overwhelmed in the midst of it all. Here are a few tips for brides to keep in mind for the big day!
Phone
Give your phone to a trusted bridesmaid or family member. This person can field all texts, phone calls, or emails that come in. If something truly requires your attention, they will let you know. Hopefully, there will have been a day of contact list already made without your phone number on it!
Perfume for the Wedding Day
Finding a special perfume for the wedding day will give brides an extra boost of confidence! This is a great way to feel fresh in the midst of the busy day. You can also keep this perfume and every time you smell it, you’ll be reminded of the wedding day!

Bridal Emergency Kit
A bridal emergency kit is so important! The chaos of the wedding day can bring some unexpected trials and the emergency kit can remedy them! Make sure to include:
  • Toothbrush + Toothpaste + Floss
  • Mints + Gum
  • Extra Nail Polish + Remover
  • Chapstick
  • Lipstick
  • Hairspray
  • Perfume
  • Deodorant
  • Nail Clippers
  • Bobby Pins
  • Safety Pins
  • Body Tape
  • Hair Ties
  • Hair Brush
  • Q-Tips
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Glue
  • Needle + Thread + Seam Ripper
  • Baby Wipes
  • Tide To Go Stick
  • Face Blotting Wipes (Will remove oil, but not makeup)
  • Tampons
  • Lotion
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Band-Aids
  • Advil
  • Benadryl (Non-Drowsy)
  • Tums
  • Lint Roller
  • Tissues
Bridal Snack Packs
Since the wedding day is so crazy, the wedding party needs to be intentional about eating. Make a snack pack for each member of the bridal party and encourage them to eat right after pictures. Eating after pictures, eliminates the chance of the wedding party getting food in their teeth before pictures. Make sure to include water and protein in the snack pack. Don’t forget to make a snack pack for yourself!
Alternative Pair of Shoes
Most brides want tall, gorgeous heels for their wedding day. While these shoes look great, they do not always feel great. Bring a backup pair of shoes that are still cute but will not hurt. Many flats look great with wedding dresses. Some brides even opt for dressy sandals!

Thanksgiving is a day that most people love! They spend the day eating and chatting with their family and loved ones. Others have a harder time making this holiday enjoyable. Oftentimes, these parties require intentional planning and preparation. Here are a few activities to help make your Thanksgiving a memorable day! Some of the activities will make the day fun, and others will make it a meaningful time that everyone will remember!
Kitchen Crafts
Throughout the holidays, the kitchen is the busiest place to be! The following kitchen crafts will give your kitchen a more homey feel. Cooking and baking tools are a great option for personalization crafts. You can use family initials, pumpkins, christmas trees, hollies, quotes . . . there are so many different options for decorating!

Family Recipes
Another way to make the day memorable would be sharing family recipes at Thanksgiving. You can create a family recipe box and add more recipes each Thanksgiving! Parents, you can even bring your kids in and teach them how to cook Great-Grandma’s famous Sweet Potato Casserole!

Thankfulness Wall
The Thankfulness Wall is a great way to bring the family together. All you need is twine, paper, scissors, clothespins, and a sharpie! This encourages people to really look at their life and see the good in it. This can even be used as a photobooth backdrop!

Gratitude Slips
Lastly, gratitude slips are another fantastic way to encourage family to look for the positive things happening in their lives! Everyone writes down what they are grateful for and puts it in a jar, but does not write down their name. The jar will make its way around the table and each guest will read one slip of gratitude. This is a fun way for everyone to be thankful while remaining anonymous!
