Cinco de Mayo is in 2 days and you don’t have any plans yet? We’ve got you covered! In this blog, we’re going to share a few tips that will make the party all that your guests can taco about. All of these supplies can be picked up at two places: Party City and Smart and Final!
Decor
The key to decorating for a Cinco de Mayo party is bright colors! Select a bright color palette and try to stick to it. Some trending colors are pink, orange, purple, and green. You can either choose bright or dark shades of these colors. Either would be great, just stick with the same shades. Within this color palette, some items that will tie your party together are fans, pom poms, tassels, streamers, and piñatas. Placing these in various places will give a strong Cinco de Mayo impression. One simple way to build a centerpiece is by laying down a mexican blanket or runner down the middle of the table and placing a cactus and other succulents on top of it.

Food
Food can be simple for this party! Chips and salsa/guacamole is all you really need for appetizers. They will give your guests something to munch on, while still leaving room for the main meal. Tacos, beans, and rice will make a great dinner. If you want to offer more options for your guests, think about having a taco bar with different types of meats, tortillas, and other toppings like sour cream, lettuce, onions, cilantro, chipotle sauce, pice de gallo, etc.

Drinks
Providing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options for your guests will ensure that all attendants will find something to drink! If someone is the designated driver, you want to have something tasty for them that is not alcoholic. Two great options for this are Horchata or Agua Fresca. These will make your guests feel included in the party. For your guests that can drink, offer them a variety of drinks. We would suggest 3 different options like a Corona with lime, Sangria, and a Margarita. Offering a beer, wine, and cocktail allows your guests options to drink what they like.

Favors
Party favors are fun to gift your guests, but can also be used as decor. We like the idea of a
sombrero or a sombrero headband. This is a favor within the theme that they can use at the party. Miniature Tequila Shots are also are gift they can use at the party. Include a miniature bottle of tequila, a small pack of salt, and a slice of lime. Another fun gift is a little bag of Hot Tamales. It is within the theme and your guests can eat them at the party or at home.

Cinco de Mayo is one of our favorite holidays! Between the fun decorations, food, and drinks, there can be so much excitement at these parties. We hope you have a great and safe Cinco de Mayo. Cheers!
